10 Trending New Words To Know in the English Dictionary!

The Global Language Monitor assess that there are 1,066,095 words in the English language, and an estimated 800 to 1,000 new ones are added every year to English language dictionaries. That adds up to more than 90,000 being added to the dictionary in the 20th century alone!

The recent dramatic increase in new words is caused by the rising use of communication technology and the random coining of new words! The following slides show new words added to English language dictionaries in 2022.
