Alligators VS Crocodiles
Get ready to meet two of the most fearsome creatures on the planet- crocodiles (Crocs) and alligators (Gators). They're both so tough, it's hard to tell them apart. But fear not! We are here to tell you how to distinguish these two ferocious beasts. Let’s go!

They live in different homes
Crocodiles and alligators are easy to distinguish just by looking at where they live. They can't share the same hood. Alligators prefer freshwater, hanging out in lakes and other watery spots. Crocodiles, however, live in saltwater.

Found in different destinations
Crocs and gators are well-travelled creatures, but they have different destinations. Gators stick mostly to the US, with a few found in China. Crocodiles, on the other hand, are globetrotters, found in diverse countries all over the world.

Their snouts are different too!
Crocs and gators may seem identical, but their snouts give them away. Crocodiles sport a sleek, V-shaped snout, while alligators rock a wider one. Although when you spot one charging your way, you might not have time to take note!

Crocs are more aggressive
Warning: Do not attempt to make friends with a crocodile or alligator - they're both powerful and lethal! However, if we had to compare their temperaments, crocs are way more aggressive than their gator counterparts.

Gators are active; crocs are lazy
Alligators are go-getters! They move fast both in and out of the water, while crocs prefer a more relaxed pace. Although both are speedy swimmers, crocs tend to take it easy and move a bit slower.

Crocs are larger in size
When it comes to size, crocodiles reign supreme over alligators. But honestly, they're both pretty massive creatures. Only when fully mature can you tell the difference between the two.

Gators have wider jaws
Crocs' teeth tend to be visible because of their smaller and narrower jaws. Alligators, on the other hand, have wider jaws that provide ample space for their pearly whites. So, if you see a bunch of chompers on display, it's probably a croc!
