On 6 July 2023, Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Shriharikota announced Chandrayaan 3 and its launch date. The following day, successful vehicle testing was completed.

Buckled up in its vehicle, the LVM3 M4, which was nicknamed ‘bahubali’ for its weight, the Chandrayaaman 3 was launched into space on 14 July 2023.

On 15 July 2023, the first orbit-raising manoeuvre was successfully performed at ISTRAC/ISRO.The spacecraft was positioned in a 41,672 ×173 km orbit.

On 17 July 2023, the second-orbit raising manoeuvre was successful, and the spacecraft was positioned in a 41,603× 226 km orbit.

The fourth orbit-raising manoeuvre was completed on 22 July 2023, with the spacecraft in a position of 71351×233 km.

After travelling 22 earth days, Chandrayaan-3 finally landed on the south pole of the moon on August 23, 2023, at 6:04 IST, creating history.
