Situated in the Tumkur district of Karnataka, this plant spans across an area of 13,000 acres. It was commissioned in late 2019. The location of the plant was chosen because of the scarce population and rainfall.

A power complex of 41 solar plants in Benban that can be seen from space. The project was overseen by the state-owned NREA. The electricity generated from the plant will be sold to the EETC under 25-year power purchase agreements.

Also known as the Great Wall of Solar, it is said to fuel more than 6,00,000 homes. The facility covers 1200 km of the desert and is owned by China National Grid and the Zhongwei Power Supply Company.

Located in Sweihan, this is said to be the world’s biggest single-site solar power plant. The facility is expected to generate electricity to power approximately 195,000 homes and offset 7 million tonnes a year of carbon emissions.
UAE

Said to be the largest renewable energy project with an ambitious goal of generating 1 GW of the emirate’s electricity from sunlight. The plant has seamlessly been integrated into the emirate’s electricity grid too.
