Encourage questions

The first step to fostering curiosity is to encourage your child's questions. You can allot specific question days where your child gets the liberty to ask about anything!

Answer questions

A child's curiosity would be quenched when they find answers to their queries. As a fun parent-child activity, you can think of some exercises that help you find answers to all their questions!

Being idle is good

Studies have shown that being idle gives children the space to explore their thoughts as well as the environment around them. As a result, they are more likely to be curious about different things.

Made up stories

When you narrate or read open-ended bedtime stories to your children, you can ask them to finish the plot themselves. This awakens their curiosity, and they begin questioning the plot, in order to come up with a good climax.

Explore new experiences

New experiences are an effective way to spark children’s curiosity. When they experience something new, they explore multiple aspects of it. For example – going on a trip or a walk in the neighbourhood – experiences like this would help them examine a new place, meet new people and learn something new too!

Surprise them

Children love surprises! They are also curious about what the surprises entail, which keeps them guessing. A simple one like a change in routine or meals can work wonders.
