The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has notified all the schools affiliated under it regarding the upcoming World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2016 which would be none other than a competition on robotics at an international level. Approximately around 400 squads from all parts of the world are anticipated to take part in this event.
The event would be conducted by the combined co-operation of Indian boards like the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture under the Central Government and India Stem Foundation (ISF) with the sole aim to promote a liking for scientific events and develop expertise among students required for the present modern world. Such an event is expected to be an exciting prospect for students across the country as they could team up with squads at the international level while getting a chance to meet the top specialists in the field of robotics .Hence this would be an immense experience to the students which might take their understanding to a whole new level.
The WRO might pave way for an environment on Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM) that would promote structural thinking, help to crack problems using puzzles and future competitions on robotics. The Students would be able to refine their skills by taking part in events like this.
It should be noted that the students and schools can decide on whether to be a part of the event or not.
