Hi There!

Sankranti is around the corner, and it’s a perfect time to teach your little one how to make a kite. This fun activity will help you teach them about recycling plastic bags or newspapers into beautiful kites. Let’s start.

Things needed

1 newspaper or recycled plastic bag
1 ball of string
1 pair of scissors or cutter
1 marker
1 bottle of glue
2 thin flat long sticks
1 measuring scale
1 tape
Paint (optional)

Method

  1. Spread the newspaper or bag flat on the ground
  2. Take the measuring scale and marker to draw a big diamond on it
  3. Use the scissors or cutter to cut along the lines of the diamond
  4. Then place the two sticks like a cross at the centre of the paper
  5. Take the string and tie it around the sticks to make a frame
  6. Stick the frame on the newspaper or bag and tape the sides to secure the frame within the newspaper or bag
  7. Cut a piece of string and tie it to the kite
  8. When ready to fly, string it to the thread reel used for flying

Happy Sankranti! Do let us know about your kite making activity in the comments section below.

This DIY is amazing. I am gonna try it. But the thing is I already have kites. no problem because I can make kites and give them to the people in our street.
