Take this fun personality quiz

Papa. Baba. Appa. Acchan. Different ways of addressing him but there is a certain common comfort in all of these words. Fathers’ love is safe, forgiving, patient, kind and selfless. More often than not, fathers or fatherly figures have different ways of expressing their love towards their children just like reel dads. Whether it is Shahrukh Khan going berserk when he finds out his kid has joined a summer camp in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Bunny’s dad in Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani gifting him a backpack for his trip to Manali despite him being worried about the trip, dads have such varying ways of expressing their love.

This Father’s Day, we bring you five iconic fathers from your favourite movies for you to find out which character best represents your dad.

Amitabh Bachchan in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham

Your dad can come across as a strict and stern dad who is particular about family values and traditions, just like Yashvardhan Raichand from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. But underneath that tough exterior, lies a softhearted man who only wants the best for you. Having said that, it just takes one gaze from him to make you drop everything and follow his advice. Especially, when he goes “Keh diya na, bas keh diya!”

Anupam Kher in Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Like Anupam Kher aka Dharamvir Malhotra from DDLJ, your father is the funniest. Even a regular conversation with him makes your family and you split your sides. He’s more of a friend than a father and your friends think he’s cooler than you. He’s always supportive of all your choices and he’s your go-to person and the 2 am friend for sure.

Amitabh Bachchan in Piku

Your dad, like Bhaskor Bannerjee from Piku worries about everything, be it the weather or the food you eat. But he is much more than his worrisome character. He has always given you the freedom you need, be it in your career choices, dressing or education. He’s raised you to be an independent person and it’s honestly the best gift he could ever give you.

Will Smith in Pursuit of Happyness

He is hard-working, determined and persevering and you know that he does all this for your safe and secure life. You often find him speaking about the struggles from his early days and how he worked hard to give the family all the comforts and happiness. He always has motivational quotes up his sleeve that he slips into conversations. He often sounds like Will Smith from Pursuit of Happyness quoting, “You got a dream, you gotta protect it. If you want something, you go get it. Period.”

Mohanlal in Drishyam

Your dad is known for his protective instincts and his intent to do just about anything for your safety. Similar to Georgekutty in Drishyam, he would fight the world for you and your well-being. He always watches over you, and sometimes, even protects you from your mom and her taunts. According to him, no matter how old you are or will be, you’ll always be his little baby.
