time management, work culture at byjus

At BYJU’S, we have adopted various collaborative practices to make the work-from-home mode as seamless as possible for our employees. While the well-being and overall health of BYJUites have been at the heart of these initiatives, our efforts have also been focused on fostering an environment where BYJUites feel emotionally safe and supported.

This is paramount to nurturing a healthy work environment and work culture at BYJU’S – one that leaves enough room for creativity, personal aspirations, growth and new learnings. Goals that can be ticked off the list by making some simple tweaks to the way you approach and manage tasks, and more importantly, manage time to make space for both work and play.

Here are a few simple tips to improve work efficiency and practice better time management:

Make a list and prioritise

In your day-to-day schedule, some tasks are more pressing than others. So, find a way to prioritise the tasks and set a schedule for the day. You can even ease your work by creating a to-do list and checking off the tasks once completed. This can really help organise your working time.

Set up a workspace

No, we don’t mean big wall separators and cubicles, but just a setup that can double up as your own little sanctuary to think and explore. And the key to creating this space is avoiding certain distractions. Try not to work in a space where people often move around. Try to find a spot that is calming and at the same time creative enough to inspire you to think out-of-the-box. This will help you be more productive in those working hours.

Minimise distractions

Of course, you can take a break, but try to dedicate your most productive hours to complete important tasks. Social media, OTT, video games and everything that your smartphone provides – instead of trying to completely block them, try to use them to reward yourself for every little pocket of productivity. This way, you can finish your work on time and also relax later, rather than working into the wee hours of the night. This brings us to our next point…

Resist the urge to multitask

One of the hardest, yet integral practices under time management, which will not only help you complete your tasks on time but also ensure that you give 100 per cent to everything you do. The idea is to focus, instead of trying and fitting in multiple chores into a limited time. In doing so, you will notice your productivity and also the quality of work improve over time.

Keep a track of time

It is important to keep track of time while working. In fact, if you are able to plot the time required for each delegated task and finish them in the stipulated time frame, it can really improve the overall efficiency and bring about effective time management.

Following these simple tips while working from home or even from the office can really help you work better. It can help imbibe a positive work culture and make you fall in love with what you create and conceive.
