It takes dedication, hard work, and meticulous planning to succeed in life. Mohali resident Vasundhara Chaudhary seems to have got the recipe for success right. A student of Infant Jesus Convent School, Vasundhara topped her school with 96.2 percent in the class 10 CBSE exams. This BYJU’S student attributes her success to self-study and a set timetable, which she charted with the help of the learning app.

In an exclusive interview with Team StoryWeavers, Vasundhara talks about her varied interests, the importance of planning, and her favourite learning companion BYJU’S – The Learning App.

Excerpts from the interview:

You’re a classical dancer, painter, quizzer, and also a class topper. How do you manage your time?

I have a dedicated timetable, where I allot time for studies and extracurricular activities. This helps me study and pursue other interests. During my boards, I religiously studied every day and never skipped any topic. My timetable helped me in achieving that goal. I charted out a routine combining two tough topics with an easy one, followed by my math practice every day. Whenever I had a doubt, I went back to BYJU’S videos and cleared them on time. This helped me in managing my time well.

Has any subject given you sleepless nights? If so, how did you tackle it?

Cracking chemistry was a huge challenge for me. I made my study notes for the subject. Along with it, I started practicing mock test papers and previous years’ papers, along with a timer, three months before the exams. This practice helped me complete all my papers on time.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I am passionate about biology and want to pursue a career in medicine. I have two dreams – to serve my country in the capacity of a navy officer and to become a doctor. My grandfather, a doctor, is my real inspiration. He always helped the needy by providing them free medical services. I want to be like him one day.

Whom do you attribute your success to?

My parents. Despite having a busy schedule, they always helped me with my studies and encouraged me to achieve my goals. My mother always told me to dream big, and never give up on it. Her encouraging words helped me dream big and fulfil my goals.

A big thanks to BYJU’S – The Learning App. I was introduced to the app when I was in grade nine, and I’ve been in love with the app ever since. The rich visuals and fun methods of explaining each topic worked well for me. I could easily understand the concepts and study at my own pace. So, I never felt the need to join any coaching classes.

What’s your piece of advice to your juniors?

Three most important things:

  1. Set your own mini-goals right and work towards achieving them.
  2. Board exams are just a stepping stone in your life, so do not get nervous.
  3. Prepare well in advance. Keep a timer on and practice a lot. In the end, hard work always pays.

The Team StoryWeavers wishes her all the best in fulfilling her dreams.
