Meet BYJU’S star achiever V S Anirudh, who scored a 100/100 in his school exams, secured a national rank in the Science Olympiad, and is now all set to compete in the international level.

Eighth-grader V S Anirudh wishes to pursue engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and become a scientist. This boy from the temple town of Srirangam has been nurturing this dream since he was a little child. Taking part in quiz contests and Olympiads since grade one instilled a love for learning in Anirudh from a young age.

In the initial years of school, his mother mentored him. But as he graduated to higher classes, his mother realised the need for extra guidance. “I did not wish to enroll him in coaching classes where he would spend time matching with the frequency of his tutor. I was looking for alternatives that would help Anirudh learn better by offering clarity on concepts,” his mother says.

Anirudh opted for BYJU’S-The Learning App because it offered him both quality and quantity. He loved the personalised method of teaching math and science topics. “When I downloaded the free version, I was blown away by the video lectures. They had rich animations, graphics, and real-life examples. The concepts in math and science backed by quizzes and fun tests made learning easy. That’s why I was eager to subscribe for the entire course,” says Anirudh, a student of Sri Vageesha Vidhyashram in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu.

A ‘Math Maniac’, Anirudh makes it a point to solve a couple of math problems before going to bed every day. The eighth-grader’s hard work and dedication have paid off. He not only topped his seventh-grade exams but also secured 163rd rank in the national-level Science Olympiad.

We thank his mentor Dhanush Sir for his constant support and for helping Anirudh become a lifelong learner.

   Anirudh’s tips for exam preparation

  • Prepare a monthly timetable combining one tough subject and an easy one for each day.
  • Understand concepts instead of memorising them. Engaging videos and animations will help you in understanding the concepts and remembering them.
  • Make brief notes of what you study. Our brain recalls things better when we write them down while studying.
  • Enjoy what you study and don’t limit your studies to just answering test papers. When you inculcate these habits, you will develop a lifelong love for learning.
