Happy World Poetry Day! Today, March 21, is celebrated as World Poetry Day as an initiative by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), since 1999. It is celebrated to recognize the unique ability of poetry to capture the creative soul of the human mind.

Keeping the spirit of this day alive, we at BYJU’S organized a poetry contest, called Little Wordsmith (classes 4 – 7) and Young Wordsmith (classes 8-12).  We asked you to send us a short video clip of you reciting poems on the themes given to you. We were thrilled to read your poems, as they helped us understand your experiences through the last year and your hopes for the future. We couldn’t be happier to get acquainted with so many of our little and young budding poets. A lot of entries took us by surprise with their amazing composition and oration, and it was surely no easy task to pick the winners. But without any further ado, here are the winning entries:

BYJU’S Little Wordsmith Winners

1. Saee Pratapwar, Class 6, Thane

2. Aaryaehi Purwar, class 6, Bengaluru

3. Ganga Vijayan, class 7, Cherthala, Kerala

BYJU’S Young Wordsmith Winners

1. Deepika, Class 11, Ambala

2. Aashi Biwal, Class 10, Ujjain

3. Aarush Gupta, Class 10, Jammu

Please Note: The results are final and binding. There may be delays with the shipping of the prizes due to the COVID situation.

Congratulations to all the winners! Stay tuned for more fun contests at The Learning Tree Blog.
