Team StoryWeavers|March 22, 2022, 17:39 IST|

Fun times are here! Do you have an empty plastic bottle or a tin can lying waste? Well, here’s your moment to turn it into a fun pencil holder for your child. It is also a great way to help them learn about recycling and reusing old or waste materials around them.

To get started with this simple craft for kids,

You need:

  • Waste plastic bottle or tin can
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Wool (optional)
  • Coloured papers
  • Markers
  • Paint (any colour or colours)

  • Discuss with your child what they would like to make with the empty can/bottle
  • Use the paper or wool to cover the bottle or can
  • Cut out different shapes, or eyes, ears and nose etc. to mimic your child’s favourite animal
  • Paste it on the covered can or bottle
  • Use it to store pencils, colours and more in an organised manner.

Pro-tip: You can also use shells or tiny stones for decoration.

The finished pencil holder will be a cool addition to your child’s study corner. Do let us know in the comments section below if you tried this DIY.  For more such exciting DIYs, click here.
