Jane’s Journal – The Adventure Of The Missing Giant Panda
Dear Diary,
What an adventure Jax and I had today. We went to the world of Animalia and helped Detective Z find Mr GP or shall I say Giant Panda. I learned some cool facts about Giant Pandas. Here are some for you too!
- Giant pandas are bears. They are black and white in colour.
- Their natural habitat is thick bamboo forests which are found high up in the mountains of Central China.
- They are really good tree climbers and can start climbing from the age of seven months. (Jax could barely crawl at that age…hehe)
- And like other bears, giant pandas too can swim. That explains how Mr GP reached the opposite side of the lake.
- Giant Pandas eat a lot of bamboo and sometimes eat small animals or fish. (They also seem to love food, like Jax. But, Giant Pandas love bamboo shoots, unlike Jax)
- They spend an average of 14 hours eating and the remaining sleeping. Now, I understand why Mr GP missed the planned picnic.
- These beautiful bears are endangered! No wonder, Detective Z was so scared for Mr GP and was keen on protecting him.
- Lastly, Giant Pandas like their solitude which means that they are solitary animals. Ah…like I need my alone time away from Jax. ?
Well, I should be off as another visit to meet Mr GP awaits us.
