What does it mean to be a part of the world’s leading EdTech company? How does it feel to be a part of a team that is engineering the future of education and powering millions of learning journeys? Is it all about technical proficiency or is there more?

This Engineer’s Day, we took a deep dive into the workings and culture of BYJU’S tech teams to figure out what goes into the making of cutting edge products and learning solutions. We also learned how the “intersection of creativity and imagination” plays a role in turning a vision into reality – and how this serves as the ultimate boost for an engineer or product builder, crafting new and improved learning experiences.

Hear it straight from our power duo! Watch Ranjit Radhakrishnan, Chief Product Officer, and Prakash Ramachandran, Chief Technology Officer, talk about building a strong tech backbone at BYJU’S and leading a team that is inclusive, diverse and well-rounded.

“From the very beginning,” says Prakash, sharing a glimpse into the team, “we have been cognizant of the need for diversity and inclusivity in BYJU’S. And we have ensured that not just for the core leadership team but the entire tech team here.” According to the techie, it’s the only way to bring in a diverse point of view, which in turn, brings in different skill sets and approaches to solving a problem.

While building a diverse team is one part of our efforts, the other – and perhaps more important – part involves building a cohesive unit to drive our innovations and ideations. An endeavour that calls for a “love for the craft” and a desire to “create an impact”.

As Ranjit explains, “When we look for the right hire, we look to see whether they really love their craft and if their passion shines through. But beyond that, we also look for people who want to come in and make an impact.”
