Ready? Here are your questions:

Question 1

Often described as the most important invention in the history of mankind, it was invented roughly around 4500 BC and had a significant impact on transport and agriculture. What is this invention that we now see everywhere?

Question 2

Before this device was invented, doctors used to tap their fingers on the patient’s chest in order to figure out what was wrong. This proved to be a problem for a gentlemanly French doctor called Rene Laënnec when a young female patient came for a consultation. What did he invent that is used widely by doctors today to obtain a preliminary diagnosis?

Question 3

Elisha Gray was an American engineer who, according to some experts, is considered to be the actual inventor of a revolutionary method of communication. According to them, Gray’s idea of using liquid transmitters was stolen by another famous inventor who successfully patented the device and is remembered today as the inventor of the device. Who allegedly stole Gray’s idea and which invention is this?

Question 4

Pictured below is Arthur Fry who was an employee of the 3M corporation. His invention has been helping people remember things for 40 years. What did he invent?

Question 5

Pictured below is James Naismith, a Canadian sports teacher and inventor. He invented a sport that could be played indoors during the cold winters to keep his students in shape. The sport was designed such that it would not take up much space, could help its track athletes to keep in shape and be “fair for all players and not too rough.”  What did Naismith invent?

Take your guesses in the comments section below. Winners of this edition, along with the answers will be revealed next Sunday, so keep your eyes peeled!
