In this world, we must live in harmony with all its beings – flora or fauna. To ensure the earth’s sustenance and its resources, we must conserve and protect nature from all the danger that uncontrolled development has caused over the years.
Taking a small actionable step towards this cause, we decided to help the wildlife in Bengaluru. BYJUites volunteered at the People for Animals (PFA) Wildlife Hospital, Kengeri, Bengaluru, on October 29 to take a step towards urban wildlife rehabilitation and its safety. The NGO U&I facilitated the drive to raise awareness about animal protection and rescue while providing support and care to abandoned urban wild animals.
The volunteers participated in various enrichment activities at the animal shelter, where they helped to build and paint shelters for the rescued animals. This was an excellent opportunity for BYJU’S volunteers to get hands-on experience with animal care while giving back to society.
“The Director of PFA talked about how they rescue animals from shelters and place them in this wonderful environment, with limited human interaction, where they can be free to be themselves. We helped decorate cages, sourced fallen logs, and created a natural carpet for the bottom so the birds would have a rough surface and have better claw grip,” shared Keerthy V, ORM.
She added, “Another fun project we did was putting together a hammock for wildlife. We also distributed some necessities from BYJU’S to aid in the upkeep of the shelter. It was such an eye-opening experience—and I’m glad I got to be part of it!”
Ravi Chandra, Associate Artist, said, “Animal rights and care of rescued animals is an important concern in today’s world. We are glad that BYJU’S volunteers were able to take part in this initiative and help the cause.”
“Small steps like these go a long way in helping animals in need. We hope that BYJU’S volunteers will continue to be a part of such efforts in the future as well!” shared Jayanti Moitra, Student Success Specialist.
BYJU’S Education for All, too, hopes to make a difference with the support of BYJUites, NGO partners, and others. Through our mission, we hope to reach 10 million children by 2025.
BYJU’S Education for All is reaching out to underprivileged children across India. Through the BYJU’S Give programme, you can contribute to this mission and help children with quality digital learning. You can donate an old device, which we will refurbish, and then use the money raised to buy a new device. In case you do not have a device, you can also donate to an NGO partner, who will use the money to buy devices for children.
In both cases, we will load our BYJU’S Think & Learn Premium content onto these devices and distribute them to children in need.
