Meet five-year-old Faith Sequeira from Mumbai. She loves to paint, make crafts, and sing like Beyoncé. She is also a pet lover and once rescued and sheltered twelve little kittens! Her parents fondly describe her as ‘a little ball of energy’ who is always curious to learn and excited to try out new things.
Team Storyweavers caught up with Faith and her parents to understand her learning journey with Disney BYJU’S Early Learning App. She talked about how she balances her activities with her study time, and most importantly, why she has been homeschooled since the beginning.
Although the lockdown scenario has enabled many parents to adopt online learning for their children, for Faith, this has always been her method of learning. “Since both of us are entrepreneurs working from home, we decided to put Faith into homeschooling,” said Jennifer, Faith’s mother. “This allows us to get more involved in her education, understand her needs and accordingly help her learn better.”
Faith is also learning on the go. Every time the Sequeira family travels due to work, Faith accompanies them. This way, she gets to acquire knowledge that is beyond her textbooks and learn through practical examples. “With homeschooling clubbed with Disney. BYJU’S Early Learning App, there is never a stop on her study routine. She carries her app wherever we travel and ensures to complete her daily studies,” adds her mother.
We asked Faith about her favourite subject in Disney. BYJU’S Learning App. “Maths!” was her prompt answer. “I love numbers and I am really good with addition and subtraction,” she adds, as a matter of fact. She solves the worksheets from the app that help her keep up with the subject. Along with that, the Osmo Augmented Reality kit guides her with English language portions through fun stories and animated activities. Her father, Steven Sequeira said, “Faith loves the whole process of fitting her Osmo kit and watching stories of Jax and Jane. Through these stories, she gets to learn a lot of new words and expand her vocabulary.”
What also caught our attention is her great zeal to learn and her big bright confident smile. Faith loves to study and is way ahead of her peers thanks to her parents’ support and her BYJU’S App. We wish her all the best for her future.
