With the boundaries between work and personal space blurring in the work-from-home setting, taking care of our mental well-being is crucial. Now more than ever! The current pace of living requires us to juggle multiple things at once, which often affects our mental health. And our mental health affects how we think, feel and act.
At BYJU’S, we believe in a holistic sense of well-being. A happy employee is key to a positive and thriving work culture. On Mental Health Day, and in fact every other day, the work culture at BYJU’S encourages BYJUites to love their minds and put their mental health above everything else.
To celebrate the international observance, BYJUites took a conscious step to disconnect, unwind, and be kind to their mind. An insightful session on Mental Health: Making it OKAY was conducted by experts from our mental wellness partner, YourDost. BYJUites joined in along with their friends and family and learned how to prioritise their mental wellness and practice self-care.
The session also stressed on the importance of seeking mental health support. It further deep dived into the benefits of counselling and therapy. Participants made the most of the session by asking several questions related to stress, anxiety, counselling, etc.
Next up, was an energising Mind Spa session by the experts from Zariya. During this, participants practiced Pranic Energising, breathing exercises, relaxing physical movements, and affirmations. Shereen Shazawal, a certified NLP practitioner and speaker for the event, explained that affirmations rewire the brain and improve mood. And true to the word, BYJUites were left feeling relaxed and calm after the session, as they chimed along to affirmations like – “Life is eaasssyyyy” and “Life is effortless”.
Talking about the experiential session, Sethu S, one of the attendees, said, “I felt really calm and relaxed” after the session. Nishant Garg, another attendee, said “Mind Spa was fantastic and I really look forward to more such sessions.”
Wellness initiatives and events like this is a step towards nurturing a positive and happy work culture for BYJUites. We are on a relentless journey to destigmatise conversations around mental health and encourage more and more people to take care of their minds!
We would love to hear from you.
